What is Embroidery
Embroidery is the age-old process of stitching a design onto a garment. Instead of using a needle and thread by hand, a machine is used to do the work. A digital file is required to provide instructions to the machine to tell it how to stitch the design. Embroidery usually works best with simple, low color logos or artwork. Designs created from photographs or with intricate details and small lettering usually can't be embroidered. We will always contact you if there are issues with the artwork submitted.
Once we have received and reviewed your artwork, the next step is to "digitize" the file. That is to create the instructional file for the machine. If you have an embroidery ready file, usually a .dst file, there is no charge as we can use the file you provide. If you do not have a digitized file, we will create one for you. If you have multiple pieces of artwork to be embroidered at one time, there is a charge for each design to be digitized. Pricing for digitizing services will ultimately be determined by the size of the artwork, but is typically $25-$35 for a left chest and hat digitization.
Quick turn around time. Usually we can get things produced and out the door within a week from time of payment and receipt of artwork based on the current workload.

What is Machine Embroidery
Machine embroidery is a process where a specialized sewing machine is used to create intricate designs and patterns on fabric, using different colored threads. It's a precise and durable method of adding customized artwork, logos, or text to a variety of items.
How long does it take to get my embroidered items?
The turnaround time depends on the complexity of the design, the number of items, and the current workload ahead of you at the time of ordering.
Our standard turn around time for Embroidery is 10-15 Business days, but please inquire at the time of ordering in case there is a change.

Is there a minimum order quantity?
We do not have a minimum order quantity for embroidery. Just remember that if you do not have a embroidery ready file (already digitized), there will be a digitizing fee for the order.
can any artwork/design be embroidered?
We recommend designs that are fairly simple and have a low color count and solid colors. Unfortunately, if your design is very complicated/detailed, embroidery wouldn't be the best option. Embroidered graphics need to be sewn and therefore need to be simplified so they appear clearly when stitched.
A few helpful tips to ensure that your artwork will embroider properly: Avoid small lettering or tiny detail, fonts should be at least 7mm high. Avoid photographic imagery or gradients, artwork should be made up of solid colors only. The largest and clearest graphics will convert to embroidery the best.

What are the artwork requirements for EmbrOIDERY?
If you have a .dst, .emb, or .rde file (these are all embroidery specific files), then you have an embroidery ready file.
Ideally, vector-based files are preferred (e.g., .AI, .EPS, .SVG). These files can be scaled without losing quality, making them ideal for creating crisp, clean embroidery designs. High-resolution raster images (.JPG, .PNG) can also be used, but the digitizing process may require more effort to ensure a high-quality result.
If there's any issues with your artwork, we will contact you before proceeding with the order. If we need to adjust or re-do your artwork, you may be charged an artwork fee depending on how long it takes. Artwork should be uploaded at a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
The artwork fee to adjust or re-do your artwork is separate from the digitizing fee.

You said there is no set-up fee, so why are you charging me a digitizing fee?
Embroidery machines need specific instructions that image files like JPGs and PNGs don't provide. Digitizing creates a specialized file that tells the machine exactly where to place each stitch, what color thread to use, and how to create the desired effect.
What's the best way to submit my artwork for embroidery
- Provide high-quality, clear artwork.
- Specify the desired size and placement of the design.
- Indicate the exact thread colors you want to use (Pantone colors are best).
- Communicate any specific design preferences or requirements.
I already have a file that has been digitized, why are you charging me for digitizing?
Depending on what type of garment and what placement you had the digitized file created for, might require us to have the design re-digitized for a different garment or a different size.
For example, a file digitized for placement on a cap will most likely stitch out properly on a flat, however a file digitized for a flat would have a high probability of having stitch out issues on a cap. Additionally, a file digitized for "puff" embroidery is not compatible for non-puff embroidery and vice versa. Lastly, a file that is digitized for a left chest placement is not able to be enlarged for full front or back placement.

What are the typical embroidery cost considerations?
The cost of embroidery depends on several factors:
- Stitch Count: More complex designs with higher stitch counts will cost more.
- Number of Items: Bulk orders typically receive discounts.
- Digitizing Fee: A one-time fee to convert your artwork into a machine-readable embroidery file.
- Material: Some materials are more difficult to embroider, which may affect the price.
What if I bring my own item to be embroidered?
We do embroider on BYO items, however, with any decoration technique there can be issues that arise. Especially with items we have not sourced ourselves. We highly encourage you to provide spare items if you bring your own item. If you provide spares, we will use one of the spares and you will only be charged for the actual number of items decorated. If you are unable to provide spares and something goes wrong, unfortunately we can not replace your item, but you can choose something similar from our products.
How durable is machine embroidery
Machine embroidery is very durable! The stitches are tightly interwoven, creating a design that can withstand regular washing and wear. High-quality thread and proper embroidery techniques further enhance durability.
What items can be embroidered?
Almost anything fabric-based can be embroidered! Common items include:
- Apparel: Shirts, jackets, hats, sweatshirts, polos, uniforms
- Accessories: Bags, backpacks, towels, blankets
- Home Goods: Pillows, curtains, tablecloths
- Promotional Items: Patches, keychains, custom gifts
Can I get a sample of the embroidery before placing a large order?
Yes. We will stitch out a sample of your design on a garment for you to approve before proceeding with a large order. Please inquire about this process at the time of ordering. There is a sample charge to cover the cost of materials.
Will the embroidered design fade or shrink?
High-quality embroidery thread is colorfast and resistant to fading. With proper care, the embroidered design should maintain its color and shape for a long time. Shrinkage is typically minimal and related to the fabric itself, not the embroidery.
How do I care for embroidered items?
- Turn the garment inside out before washing.
- Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle.
- Avoid using harsh detergents or bleach.
- Tumble dry on low or hang to dry.
- Iron inside out on a low setting, avoiding direct contact with the embroidered area.
What if I want to remove the embroidery later?
Removing embroidery is a delicate process and can potentially damage the fabric. It's generally not recommended unless you're prepared to risk some level of damage. Professional embroidery removal services are available, but their effectiveness depends on the fabric and the embroidery.
It is usually more cost efficient to have a new garment embroidered as the removal process is time consuming and the cost reflects that. We handle embroidery removal on a case by case basis.
